MPIP launches new open access toolkit

Amy Williams

A new reference site from Medical Publishing Insights and Practices (MPIP) aims to educate its users on the ins and outs of open access as part of its commitment to improving research transparency in pharma.

With open access everywhere nowadays, it is very important to know what it is and how it works. However, this is not always easy. For those who are not already familiar with the publishing landscape, there are many different open access types, licences and definitions which can be difficult to grasp.

To help guide people through these various complexities, MPIP have developed a new reference site containing digestible information on five key aspects of open access publishing.

  • What is open access?
  • Why publish open access?
  • Do open access publishing requirements and availability of open access options vary by funding source?
  • What are the economic aspects of open access?
  • Are open access journals more likely to be ‘predatory journals’?

Access this resource and many other features from MPIP on their website and blog page.
